Caterpillar offers incomplete machines and systems in collaboration with Cat dealers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to provide specialized machines for specific applications. Bare chassis (WTR models) can be ordered with or without lift cylinders, and most product options are identical to those on dump truck models. In general, these models have the higher ROPS (Rollover Protective Structure) tractor certification required for specialized machines such as tanker trucks, tow tractors, and fuel and lubricant tanker trucks. These incomplete machine configurations are used in construction, demolition, waste handling, material handling, and mining, allowing you to purchase complete solutions from your Cat dealer and use Cat equipment at every stage.
