Service insights notifications are here: what does this mean for you?

Does your banking app alert you when a credit card payment is due? Does your phone light up to warn you when a storm is approaching?

Timely push notifications like these make life easier. They help you stay on top of important tasks and take action before it's too late. And now they're coming to your device too—saving you time, eliminating guesswork, and simplifying your day.

Improving an already effective process

At Caterpillar and Neemba, we have always made monitoring equipment health a priority. For years, we have been using service histories and telematics data to determine the best time to schedule maintenance and repairs. This is key to avoiding unexpected downtime and the costs associated with breakdown repairs.

Although these proven diagnostic methods are reliable, they are also time-consuming. Complex data from multiple sources must be collected and analyzed. In addition, traditional tools such as fault code readers typically identify problems only after they have occurred.

The advent of predictive analytics and machine learning

With advances in technology, diagnostics are also evolving. Today, systems can analyze data from more than 30 different sources related to your equipment in real time—including telematics, fluid analysis, inspections, engineer recommendations, service histories, and much more.

With this processing power, we can predict critical maintenance events and deliver that information to you through equipment management solutions like VisionLink® and its mobile app, as well as applications like Parts.cat.com. You receive clear diagnostics and personalized recommendations, so you can make informed decisions.

This is a major step forward. But when you're busy running your business, it's not always easy to remember to log in to VisionLink or open the Parts.cat.com app. You could miss an important message about the status of your equipment.

The right resources, right at your fingertips

The new Service Insights feature available on VisionLink and Parts.cat.com solves this problem. Once enabled, it automatically sends notifications to your mobile device when your equipment requires attention.

These real-time alerts do more than just flag a problem. They also provide recommendations for resolving it and connect you to the necessary resources.

For example, if you receive a notification that your bulldozer is reporting engine overheating, you can click on the message to schedule service with us directly. Or, if you prefer to perform the repair yourself, the alert redirects you directly to a shopping cart on parts.cat.com—pre-filled with the exact parts you need.

No more wasting time searching for fault codes, scouring parts lists, or making calls to schedule service. Everything is done with a single click. And no more hesitation either: you can make decisions with confidence, knowing that you are ordering the right parts or services to keep your equipment up and running.
